Brazil leads the region in technology remuneration.

Brazil has consolidated its position as a leader in salaries for technology professionals in Latin America, according to the report "The State of Global Compensation 2025" by the multinational company Deel. The analysis examined more than 1 million contracts in 150 countries and revealed significant internal disparities in the Brazilian market.

Numbers that define the market

Brazilian engineers and data scientists earn an average of US$67,000 per year—a figure that puts the country ahead of its regional neighbors. However, this leadership is not uniform: professionals in technical fields enjoy competitive salaries, while specialists in sales, marketing, product, and design are still far from the standards of the major global powers.

Gender disparity also marks the scenario. In engineering and data, men earn US$88,000 compared to US$62,000 for women. In product and design, the difference is smaller: US$110,000 (men) versus US$96,000 (women).

AI and flexibility as key differentiators.

The sector's growth mirrors the global trend of increased value placed on artificial intelligence and data analytics specialists. The report highlights the prevalence of freelance work in the country and the search for flexible compensation models as factors driving the race for AI talent.

Broader context of Brazilian innovation

The wage leadership comes at a time of technological expansion in Brazil. The country will receive one of the five most powerful AI supercomputers in the world, with planned investments of up to R$23 billion by 2028 in the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan. Simultaneously, events such as Digital Week in Santos — which brought together more than 100 speakers, including the CEO of WhatsApp — reinforce Brazil's position as a regional innovation hub.
