In recent days, Brazil has shown significant progress in innovation, especially in the areas of digital technology, sustainability, and social inclusion. National Innovation Journey boosts regional ecosystems.

Since July 2025, the Journey has been traveling the country, promoting the decentralization of the debate on innovation and valuing regional specificities. In the Northeast, for example, projects in clean energy and circular economy stand out, while in the Amazon the bioeconomy is gaining strength with technologies inspired by local biodiversity. In the South and Southeast, digitalization and automation are advancing with the support of startups and research institutes.

The event has already brought together hundreds of entrepreneurs, researchers, and public managers, fostering cooperation between companies and research centers to apply technologies such as energy saving, the use of biomaterials, and waste reuse, strengthening Brazil's sustainable industry.

Inclusion and assistive technology highlighted at Reatech 2025

In the social sphere, Brazil is strengthening inclusion policies with innovation in assistive technology, presented at Reatech 2025, the largest Latin American event in the sector. Equipment such as adapted wheelchairs and communication devices have expanded the autonomy and social participation of people with disabilities, aligning technology, care, and human rights.

Impacts and challenges

Despite the progress, Brazil still invests only 1.191 TPF3 of its GDP in research and development, half the world average, and ranks 52nd in the Global Innovation Index 2025. Consolidating these initiatives and strengthening leadership within companies are identified as challenges to keeping pace with the global rate of innovation.
