Brazil boosts startups at Web Summit Lisbon 2025

Brazil is participating with over 370 startups and innovative companies at Web Summit Lisbon 2025, one of the largest global technology and innovation events, taking place from November 10th to 13th in the Portuguese capital. The delegation is coordinated by ApexBrasil in partnership with Sebrae, bringing together scalable solutions seeking international expansion. The Brazilian Pavilion was officially inaugurated on November 11th, with the presence of the presidents of ApexBrasil and Sebrae.

Among the initiatives, the ApexPod on the Go He records videocasts with Brazilian entrepreneurs, experts, and investors to increase the visibility of national innovation, especially highlighting technological advancements in the Northeast of Brazil and Portugal's role as a gateway to the European market.

At COP30, the Ministry of Management and Innovation (MGI) launched the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) as Brazil's first Digital Public Good, a platform that will be open for use by other countries, fostering international cooperation in digital climate solutions. The initiative integrates technological innovation with sustainability and social justice, reinforcing Brazil's commitment to democratizing the benefits of digital transformation and addressing climate challenges effectively and fairly.

Brazilian companies face challenges in tax reform.

A survey by the technology company V360 revealed that most Brazilian companies are still not prepared for the first phase of the tax reform to take effect on January 1, 2026. Among the difficulties, the adaptation to the new electronic invoicing system stands out, which now requires approximately 200 new fields for verification and payment. Around 671% of companies do not use automated validation tools, which could lead to billing blocks and operational interruptions.

The survey emphasizes the urgent need for investment in automated systems and specialized consulting services to avoid impacts on cash flow and ensure business continuity.

Brazil reinforces agricultural technology at Agritechnica 2025.

At Agritechnica 2025, Europe's largest agricultural technology fair, Brazil is represented by nine companies showcasing innovations for agribusiness. The event, held in Hannover, Germany, brings together more than 430,000 visitors from 130 countries and expects to generate approximately US$14.7 million in business related to Brazilian agricultural technology.

Among the Brazilian companies, Globus Electronics stands out as a leader in controllers for large vehicles, and J.Assy is recognized for its investment in R&D and pioneering solutions for the North American and European markets.
