Brazil has been standing out at the world's leading technology events, consolidating its position as an innovation hub. Last week, the Brazilian presence at Web Summit 2025 in Lisbon drew attention with over 300 participating startups, including companies like Ultracom and Instituto Priority, which have already expanded operations to Portugal and other European countries.

Web Summit 2025: Brazil in the spotlight

With approximately 70,000 participants from 153 countries, the Web Summit is one of the largest technology and entrepreneurship events in the world. Brazil, through the Brazil Web Summit 2025 Mission, sought to strengthen international connections, attract investment, and demonstrate its ability to compete on equal footing with major global technology hubs.

According to Eduardo Migliorelli, CEO of Atlantic Hub, which is responsible for the mission, the Brazilian ecosystem is maturing and already achieving practical results, such as the internationalization of companies and the application of trends like artificial intelligence, sustainability, and social impact.

Agricultural and environmental innovation

In addition to the Web Summit, Brazil also had a presence at Agritechnica 2025, the largest agricultural technology fair in Europe. Nine Brazilian companies presented innovative solutions, such as the SaveFarm® system, which uses artificial intelligence for selective spraying, reducing herbicide use by up to 95% on more than 200 farms in Latin America.

On the environmental agenda, COP30 and the Science & Climate Project reinforce the role of technology in the decarbonization of industry and agriculture, strategic areas for the country.

Impacts and challenges

  • Strengthening the Brazilian startup ecosystem
  • International expansion of technology companies
  • AI application and innovation in key sectors such as agriculture and the environment.
  • Infrastructure challenges, such as the concentration of data centers and the risks of cyber blackouts.

Despite the progress, experts warn of the need for diversification of digital infrastructure and greater resilience to risks such as technical failures or cyberattacks, especially with the growing reliance on data centers for AI and cloud services.
