Web Summit Lisbon: 370 Brazilian startups in action
Between November 10th and 13th, Lisbon hosted the Web Summit, one of the world's largest technology events. Brazil sent a record delegation: more than 370 startups and innovative companies from all regions of the country. The initiative, coordinated by ApexBrasil and Sebrae, aims to boost the internationalization of these companies and expand their connections with global investors and partners.
The Brazil Pavilion was officially opened on Tuesday (11), with the presence of the presidents of ApexBrasil, Jorge Viana, and Sebrae, Décio Lima. Brazil's first digital public asset is launched at COP30.
At COP30, the Ministry of Management and Innovation (MGI) launched the CAR (Rural Environmental Registry) as Brazil's first Digital Public Asset. This initiative is part of the Acceleration Plan for Digital Public Infrastructure Solutions, developed in partnership with Norway, India, Co-Develop, and DPGA.
The plan proposes the sharing of public technologies between countries, encouraging governments to make digital solutions of collective interest available in an open format. According to the Minister of Management, digital transformation has ceased to be merely a technical issue and has become central to governance and global development, focusing on democratizing benefits and mitigating risks.
Companies are not yet ready for tax reform.
A survey by V360, a technology company specializing in payment automation and invoice management, shows that most Brazilian companies have not yet adapted to the new tax reform. The study surveyed 355 companies from the retail, industrial, construction, agribusiness, and technology sectors.
According to the report, 671,300 companies do not use specific tools for automatic validation of tax documents, which increases the risk of delays and inconsistencies. The first phase of the transition comes into effect on January 1st, and companies that do not adapt may face billing blocks and difficulties paying suppliers.

Atmoce, a global solar and storage technology company, is starting its operations in the country, focusing on security and flexibility solutions for photovoltaic systems.
Furthermore, Brazil will host the world's largest solar energy event, for the first time outside of China. The event reinforces the country's role as a global leader in the energy transition.
