Espírito Santo invests in technology to strengthen public safety.

The Government of Espírito Santo launched two new technological programs last Friday (14) that promise to strengthen public security in the state. They are: “"Safe Woman"” and “"Mobile Smart Perimeter"”. These initiatives are part of the "Present State" program and focus primarily on protecting victims of domestic violence, as well as expanding police monitoring and identification of vehicles and suspects.

Safe Woman Program

The “Safe Woman” program aims to guarantee greater protection for victims of domestic violence through electronic monitoring of aggressors. Aggressors will wear electronic ankle bracelets, while the women benefiting from the program will receive a portable tracking unit on a smartphone. This interaction allows for continuous monitoring, and, in case of non-compliance with the protection rules, the system immediately alerts the security forces.

Mobile Smart Perimeter

The "Mobile Intelligent Surveillance" project envisions the deployment of 300 Military Police vehicles equipped with cameras capable of license plate reading and biometric readers. This equipment allows for the rapid identification of vehicles reported stolen, as well as the confirmation of the identity of suspects in circulation.

Institutional partnership

These programs are the result of a collective effort involving the Public Security Secretariat, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Espírito Santo, the State Secretariat for Women, the Secretariat of Economy and Planning, the Secretariat of Justice, and the State Court of Justice. With this, the state government reinforces its commitment to investing in technology to promote the safety and protection of the citizens of Espírito Santo.
