Web Summit Lisbon: 370 Brazilian startups

Between November 10th and 13th, Lisbon hosted the Web Summit, one of the world's largest technology and innovation events. Brazil sent a delegation of over 370 startups and innovative companies, representing all regions of the country. The initiative is coordinated by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) in partnership with the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae).

The Brazilian Pavilion was officially inaugurated on November 11th, with the presence of authorities such as Jorge Viana (president of ApexBrasil), Décio Lima (president of Sebrae), the Brazilian ambassador to Portugal, Raimundo Carreiro, and representatives from organizations such as Embratur and Serpro. The event brings together more than 70,000 participants, including investors, entrepreneurs, and specialists.

CAR as a Digital Public Good at COP30

At COP30, the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) launched the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) as Brazil's first Digital Public Good. The CAR was internationally recognized as a Rural Environmental Registry (RER) by the Digital Public Goods Alliance (DPGA) catalog, a global network of open digital solutions.

According to Minister Esther Dweck, the initiative reinforces Brazil's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and social justice. The CAR (Rural Environmental Registry) is an example of public technology with real impact, combining transparency, traceability, and sustainability.

Training and discussions on AI and business.

In addition to international events, Brazil also promotes local discussions about technology and business. Next Wednesday (November 12th), Comscore will offer free training for marketing and digital media professionals, while CNBC's "Path to Profit" program will discuss strategies for entrepreneurs with Camila Farani and Paula Monteiro.

In the realm of artificial intelligence, the debate surrounding "deathbots"—AI robots that allow for communication with the dead—is gaining prominence. These platforms encourage emotional engagement, but also raise ethical questions about the monetization of memory and the use of biometric data.
