Brazil stands out at Web Summit Lisbon 2025 with a strong presence of startups.
The Web Summit Lisbon 2025, held between November 10th and 13th, reaffirmed Brazil as a leading player in the global innovation and technology landscape. With a delegation of 350 Brazilian startups and companies, the country reinforces its position as a benchmark in Latin America, especially with the growth of startups in the Northeast, which already represent approximately 24.71% of the national total.
Significant participation and economic impact
The event, which attracted over 70,000 people, featured 2,500 exhibiting startups, as well as 1,000 investors and 900 speakers from 153 countries. Brazil had the second-largest delegation, behind only Germany, surpassing the numbers from 2024 and expanding its international presence. Last year, Brazilian participation generated over €15 million in business, a result that has the potential to grow with the current presence.
Northeast Brazil in the spotlight and regional expansion.
Northeastern Brazil is consolidating itself as an innovation hub with 35 startups in the delegation organized by ApexBrasil, representing 23,18% of those selected. Ceará, for example, was represented by four selected startups, reflecting the maturation of the local ecosystem, a result of years of investment and support from Sebrae and other institutions.
Women entrepreneurs and business acceleration
Another highlight is the Tech Entrepreneurs program, which supports startups led by women. With applications extended until November 12th, the program offers training, mentoring, and financial support, contributing to increased revenue and self-confidence for female entrepreneurs, as well as fostering investment attraction.
Internationalization and strategic partnerships
In addition to Brazil, countries like Poland are also expanding their presence at the event. The Polish startup Sharebee, for example, highlighted government support for strengthening the local ecosystem and the pursuit of sustainable growth in international markets, such as Portugal. This dynamic reinforces Web Summit as a global platform for connecting talent, investors, and opportunities.
Perspectives for the startup ecosystem
With over 20,000 startups in Brazil and a rapidly expanding ecosystem, events like Web Summit are crucial for the internationalization and scalability of businesses. Collaboration between organizations such as ApexBrasil, Sebrae, and international entities enhances technological development and attracts investments that boost the digital economy.
