Brazil drives innovation at Web Summit Lisbon 2025

Brazil had a significant presence in Web Summit Lisbon 2025, one of the largest global technology and innovation events, taking place from November 10th to 13th in the Portuguese capital. Coordinated by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), in partnership with the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae), the Brazilian delegation includes more than 370 startups and innovative companies from all regions of the country.

The Brazilian Pavilion was officially inaugurated on November 11th, with the presence of the presidents of ApexBrasil, Jorge Viana, and Sebrae, Décio Lima, as well as authorities such as the Brazilian ambassador to Portugal, Raimundo Carreiro, and representatives from Serpro, Embratur, and other organizations. The event attracts an estimated audience of over 70,000 people, providing ample space for exhibitions and networking.

Brazil's prominent role at Web Summit highlights the country's commitment to promoting the internationalization of startups. According to Jorge Viana, president of ApexBrasil, the event is one of the main initiatives to expand the global reach of these companies. Brazilian startups present scalable solutions with the potential for international expansion in various segments, from financial technology to agritech and digital health.

This international exposure is strategic for boosting investments, partnerships, and entry into new markets, reinforcing Brazil's role as an emerging hub in the global innovation landscape.

Alongside the Web Summit, the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) launched the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) at COP30 as Brazil's first Digital Public Asset. This initiative reinforces the convergence between technological innovation and sustainability, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Minister Esther Dweck emphasized that technology must go hand in hand with social justice and climate commitment.
