Brazil boosts startups at Web Summit Lisbon 2025
Brazil had a significant presence at Web Summit Lisbon 2025, one of the largest global technology and innovation events, held between November 10th and 13th. With over 370 startups and innovative companies, the Brazilian delegation, coordinated by ApexBrasil in partnership with Sebrae, presented scalable solutions with international expansion potential. The Brazil Pavilion was officially inaugurated on November 11th, with the presence of authorities such as Jorge Viana, president of ApexBrasil, and Décio Lima, president of Sebrae.
According to Jorge Viana, participation in the event reinforces the country's commitment to supporting the internationalization of Brazilian startups, expanding visibility and business opportunities abroad.
R$ invests 5 billion in infrastructure in Greater Maceió.
Nationally, businessman Dantas announced an investment of R$14T 5 billion for Greater Maceió, aimed at improving infrastructure, mobility, education, and health. The financial contribution seeks to promote regional development and improve public services, directly impacting the quality of life of the local population.
Strong demand in the Brazilian fertilizer market.
The Brazilian agricultural sector continues to expand, with the fertilizer market standing out. Data from the National Association for the Diffusion of Fertilizers (ANDA) indicates that, between January and August 2025, 30.5 million tons of fertilizers were delivered — an increase of 91% compared to the same period of the previous year. August registered the peak of deliveries, with 5.2 million tons, reflecting the strength of domestic demand and the strengthening of agribusiness.
Brazil will host the world's largest solar energy event.
Another highlight is the confirmation of Brazil as the host of the largest global event in the solar energy sector, for the first time outside of China. The announcement reinforces Brazil's leading role in the energy transition and renewable energies, attracting investments and fostering technological innovation in the country.
Macroeconomic context and industrial challenges
Despite the progress, the Brazilian macroeconomic scenario presents challenges, such as the temporary shutdown of an engine factory in São Paulo due to a windstorm and the global shortage of chips, which affects the automotive sector. Economist Fernando Genta highlights that industrial production of intermediate goods grew for the third consecutive month, but the fourth quarter may suffer some impacts, with inflation still under pressure in 2026.
