Technology in 2025: AI, 6G, and healthcare in focus.

The last few weeks have shown that technology is accelerating changes in various sectors, particularly in artificial intelligence, mobile communication, and healthcare innovation. Experts point out that 2025 will be marked by concrete advances, but also by ethical and regulatory challenges.

Artificial intelligence on the rise.

Artificial intelligence (AI) continues to dominate discussions. According to experts interviewed by CNN, mini AI models are already being integrated directly into smartphones, such as Apple Intelligence in the iPhone 16. This allows users to access advanced features directly in their pocket, without relying on the cloud.

Furthermore, the production of realistic videos using AI is expected to become more accessible and cheaper, expanding its use in entertainment, education, and marketing. Another trend is the emergence of AI agents, software capable of making more complex decisions, similar to those made by humans.

6G and connectivity

With 5G already well-established in Brazil, the next generation, 6G, is beginning to be tested. According to Arthur Igreja, a technology expert, 6G should be up to 50 times faster than 5G, promising to revolutionize mobile communication and pave the way for new applications in IoT, augmented reality, and smart cities.

AI in healthcare: ethics and cooperation

The AI4BIO South Summit 2025, held in Goiânia, reinforced the role of AI in healthcare. The event launched the AI4BIO Network, a global cooperation network to accelerate the adoption of AI in genomics, precision medicine, and epidemiology. Hugo Valadares, director of the MCTI (Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation), highlighted the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan and the importance of international collaboration.

According to Cristiana Toscano, coordinator of Ceti-Saúde UFG, it is essential to discuss regulation and ethics in the application of AI in healthcare, ensuring that the technology benefits the population without replacing professionals.

Economic impacts and challenges

Despite the progress, the global economic scenario presents challenges. The Brazilian government has revised its 2025 GDP growth projection downwards, from 2.31% to 2.21%, and inflation is expected to reach 4.61%. This could impact investments in technology and innovation, requiring more efficient strategies to maintain the pace of development.
