Google strengthens security on Android phones in Brazil.
Google announced this week that anti-theft protection tools on Android phones sold in Brazil will now be activated automatically. This measure applies to devices configured for the first time or restored to factory settings, with the aim of hindering criminal activity in a country that is among the world leaders in mobile phone theft and robbery.
Key features enabled
- Theft Detection Lockout and Remote Lock They are now enabled by default, allowing the device to be quickly locked in case of theft.
- According to Google, the São Paulo Military Police have activated the remote blocking feature more than 5,000 times since the middle of the year, demonstrating the tool's effectiveness.
