Brazil acquires AI supercomputer and showcases technology in

Brazil advances in artificial intelligence with an investment of £$ 23 billion.

Brazil is poised to have one of the five most powerful artificial intelligence supercomputers in the world. The initiative, announced by the federal government in October, is part of the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan and foresees investments of up to R$ 23 billion by 2028. The goal is to strengthen data security and guarantee the country's digital sovereignty in a scenario of increasing global technological dependence.

The machine will represent a significant leap in Brazilian computing capacity, positioning the country among the most advanced nations in AI infrastructure. This investment signals the government's commitment to technology as a strategic tool for economic development and national security.

Interactive exhibition about AI arrives in Nova Petrópolis.

While Brazil prepares for its cutting-edge infrastructure, the democratization of knowledge about artificial intelligence is also advancing. The UMI – Universum Mensch und Intelligenz exhibition landed in Nova Petrópolis this week, after an international tour of Europe and Asia, with acclaimed stops in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Blumenau.

The exhibition, a result of the partnership between the Goethe-Institut and the Max Planck Society, officially opened for authorities on Wednesday (November 12) at the Espaço Mais Cultura Renato Urbano Seibt. The main focus is on school groups: starting Monday (November 17), classes from schools in the region will be able to visit the exhibition at specific times.

Programming for schools

Schools in Nova Petrópolis have access from 8 am to 10 am and from 2 pm to 4 pm. Institutions from neighboring cities such as Ivoti, Picada Café, and Feliz can visit from 8 am to 11 am and from 2 pm to 5 pm. The exhibition invites the public to reflect on science, humanity, and the advancement of artificial intelligence—themes that are increasingly central to contemporary education.

What changes for you?

These two initiatives—investment in AI infrastructure and education on the subject—reflect a dual strategy: preparing Brazil technologically while educating citizens about the implications of artificial intelligence. The supercomputer can boost research, innovation, and cybersecurity. The exhibition in Nova Petrópolis democratizes access to knowledge about AI, essential for future generations to understand and shape this technology.
