Transformative technologies redefine the global market.

The main technological trends for 2025 point to an unprecedented acceleration in the adoption of autonomous artificial intelligence and new computing architectures. According to Gartner analyses presented at the IT Symposium/Xpo 2024, held between October 21 and 24 in Orlando, the convergence between AI, hybrid computing and digital security is redefining strategic priorities for organizations globally.[5][6]

Agentic AI: The virtual workforce arrives.

Agentic AI is emerging as the most disruptive trend. Unlike current assistants, these systems plan and execute actions autonomously to achieve objectives defined by users. Gartner predicts that by 2028, at least 15% of day-to-day work decisions will be made autonomously by AI systems, jumping from 0% in 2024.[6]

This transformation promises to create a virtual workforce capable of offloading and augmenting human labor, offering more adaptable software systems capable of completing varied tasks without continuous intervention.

Hybrid computing: solving complex problems

Hybrid computing combines different processing mechanisms — central processing units, graphics, edge computing, dedicated circuits, and neuromorphic and quantum approaches — to overcome current technological limitations.[5] This approach allows organizations to create transformative environments with superior performance to conventional ones, especially in AI and optimization applications.

6G connectivity and the metaverse

Following the expansion of 5G, 6G is emerging as the foundation of the future metaverse. According to Ericsson, this technology will enable immersive experiences in a cyber-physical world, uniting human actions and sensations with digital representations.[2] The integration of generative AI into mobile devices will transform the way we consume data and interact digitally.

Humanoid robotics and autonomous learning

Companies like Boston Dynamics and startups backed by giants like OpenAI and Nvidia are creating more accessible and functional robots. The integration of AI allows them to learn from mistakes, acquiring skills autonomously and transforming industries.[2]

Security and governance: growing priorities.

Alongside innovation, security is gaining prominence. AI governance platforms, post-quantum cryptography, and defenses against disinformation are among the top ten strategic trends.[5][6] Organizations need to balance responsible innovation with data protection and regulatory compliance.

Impact on the supply chain

Technologies such as AI, data, blockchain, IoT and connectivity with terrestrial satellite networks have reached a high level of maturity, enabling companies to optimize costs, resilience, agility and sustainability in their supply chains.[7]

What changes for you?

IT professionals need to explore these trends to shape the future of their organizations. Companies that fail to adapt risk falling behind in competitiveness. For consumers, greater service personalization, immersive experiences, and automation of routine tasks are expected.
