Russia intensifies bombing campaign against Kiev with 430 drones and 18 missiles.
The Ukrainian capital faced one of the largest Russian attacks in recent months in the early hours of November 15th. Moscow launched approximately 430 drones and 18 missiles, including ballistic and aeroballistic projectiles, against Kyiv and other regions. The attack lasted throughout the night, leaving at least six dead and about 30 wounded, including two children and a pregnant woman.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the bombing as a deliberately calculated attack aimed at causing maximum damage to civilians and infrastructure. The missiles caused fires in residential buildings in several districts of the capital, mainly affecting residential areas.
The attack comes at a critical time for Ukraine. Russian forces are advancing in the south of the country, especially in Zaporizia, where Ukrainian troops have withdrawn from several villages during intense fighting against Moscow's forces.
Chile chooses new president in polarized election.
Chileans vote this Sunday, November 16, to elect a new president in an election marked by tensions over public security and migration. The Communist Party candidate, Jeanete Iara, leads in the polls for the first round, but simulations indicate she would lose in all second-round scenarios.
The far-right candidate, José Antonio Caz, is second in the polls. The final decision will be made on December 14th if no candidate receives more than 501,300 votes this Sunday. The election reflects the political polarization in Chile, with the right attempting to regain power after the term of leftist Gabriel Boric.
