Brazil boosts startups at Web Summit Lisbon 2025
Brazil had a strong presence at Web Summit Lisbon 2025, one of the largest global technology and innovation events, with over 370 startups and innovative companies. The Brazilian delegation, coordinated by ApexBrasil in partnership with Sebrae, highlighted scalable solutions with potential for international expansion. The president of Sebrae, Décio Lima, emphasized that small businesses are fundamental to job and income creation, and that innovation must be aligned with humanist values to promote inclusion and opportunities.
Thematic panels and debates
During the event, which runs until November 13, ApexPod em Movimento, the traveling version of ApexBrasil's official podcast, presents conversations with entrepreneurs, experts, and investors, expanding the reach of Brazilian participation in the global technology and business ecosystem.
Green financing and sustainability in focus at COP30.
At COP30, green financing for small businesses was the subject of important debates. Sebrae highlighted that sustainability has ceased to be a trend and has become a priority, with entrepreneurs attentive to reorganizing production processes to reduce environmental impacts and improve the quality of life in communities.
Institutions such as the Brazilian Development Association (ABDE), Banco do Nordeste, and BNDES have reinforced their commitment to credit and support for small businesses, essential for the transition to a low-carbon economy. The BNDES-Sebrae Guarantee Fund has already supported more than R$2 billion in operations, facilitating access to credit for this segment.
Digital innovation and social impact
The Ministry of Management and Innovation (MGI) launched the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) at COP30 as Brazil's first Digital Public Asset, integrating technological innovation and sustainability. The Minister of Management highlighted that digital transformation is central to development and governance, with public digital platforms such as GOV.BR and PIX generating savings of approximately R$$ 8 billion since 2023 and more than 1.7 billion data shares between systems.
This digital agenda promotes efficiency, transparency, and a direct impact on people's lives, aligning technology and public policies to foster sustainable development.
