Brazil raises the age limit for social media and highlights...

New rules for the use of social media and AI in Brazil

Starting in 2026, Brazil will raise the minimum age for using messaging apps and social media, as well as implement new guidelines for artificial intelligence (AI). Messaging apps will be recommended for users aged 12 and older, while social media use will be restricted to those aged 16 and older. The age rating for AI chatbots, such as ChatGPT, has been reduced to 13 years, following an evaluation by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP).

These changes accompany the entry into force of the Digital ECA (Statute of Children and Adolescents), sanctioned in September, which obliges digital platforms to adopt extra layers of security to protect children and adolescents. From November 17, 2025, the new rules for age rating will come into effect, and on March 17, 2026, the rules for interactivity will come into force, including age verification of users to prevent inappropriate interactions.

Brazilian companies are showcasing more than five agricultural machines and implements, including planters, harvesters, sprayers with selective spraying technology, and harvesting platforms. This participation is organized by the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, a partnership between ABIMAQ and ApexBrasil, which aims to strengthen Brazil's image as a global supplier of cutting-edge agricultural technology.

Technological innovation at the service of the environment.
