Innovation in public technology marks Brazil's presence.
While private startups are gaining ground in Lisbon, Brazil is also advancing in the modernization of its public digital infrastructures. At COP30, the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) launched the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) as the first Brazilian Digital Public Asset.
CAR recognized internationally
The CAR (Rural Environmental Registry) has been included in the international catalog of the Digital Public Goods Alliance (DPGA), a global network that brings together open digital solutions with the potential to generate impact on the Sustainable Development Goals. This initiative marks the recognition of a Brazilian public technology as a global benchmark.
The Minister of Management, Esther Dweck, emphasized that technology must go hand in hand with sustainability and social justice. "Technology must go hand in hand with sustainability and a commitment to social justice. Climate action strategies need to incorporate the potential of technology to address challenges fairly and effectively," she stated.
Digital transformation in public administration
The MGI also participated in the XXX International Congress of CLAD in Asunción, Paraguay, presenting advancements in the modernization of the State. The Extraordinary Secretary for State Transformation, Francisco Gaetani, highlighted that the agenda is structured around three axes: People Management, Digital Transformation, and Public Organizations.
Gaetani emphasized that transforming the state is a collective task. "Democracy depends on a state that delivers," he stated, stressing that the future of public administration demands engagement and a sense of purpose.
