Brazilian stock market hits record high with 14th consecutive gain.<\/h2>\n

The Ibovespa index of B3 reached 155,257 points this Monday (10), registering its 14th consecutive rise and accumulating a valuation of 29,08% in 2025, the largest since 2019. The rise was mainly driven by shares of oil companies, mining companies and banks, reflecting optimism in the financial market.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the commercial dollar closed lower, quoted at R$ 5.307, down 0.55%, which contributes to the attractiveness of local investments.<\/p>\n

Central Bank keeps interest rates at 15% and defies government.<\/h2>\n

Despite the slowdown in official inflation, which stood at 0.09% in October, the Central Bank decided to maintain the Selic rate at 1.5% per year for an extended period to contain inflation, which remains above the annual target of 3%, with a tolerance level up to 4.5%. This stance contradicts the federal government, which seeks to reduce interest rates to stimulate the economy.<\/p>\n

The financial market projects that the Selic rate will only start to fall in 2026, reaching 12.251p3t by the end of the year, while GDP growth is expected to be 2.161p3t in 2025 and 1.781p3t in 2026.<\/p>\n

Tax reforms and challenges<\/h2>\n

The Brazilian Supreme Court (STF) has resumed debate on the creation of a tax on large fortunes, a controversial topic that could affect investments. Meanwhile, many companies are still facing difficulties adapting to the changes brought about by the tax reform, which is impacting the business environment.<\/p>\n

Initiatives to strengthen family farming<\/h2>\n

The government has launched a new phase of the Contrata+Brasil program, which aims to strengthen public procurement of food from family farms. With more than 3.7 million registered producers, the program allows farmers to plan production according to the demand of public agencies, promoting sustainable development and food security.<\/p>\n

Green jobs and the forest economy<\/h2>\n

Reforestation and commercial forestry projects in Brazil, especially in the Cerrado region, are generating green jobs, with expectations of creating 1,800 direct jobs in value chains and 800 in sustainable forest management. These initiatives promote local economic development and environmental restoration.<\/p>\n
