Brazil highlights the strength of its startups at Web Summit Lisbon.<\/h2>\n

Brazil is in the spotlight at Web Summit Lisbon 2025, one of the world's largest technology and innovation events, taking place from November 10th to 13th in the Portuguese capital. With a delegation of 340 startups and innovative companies, the country reinforces its position as a benchmark in technological entrepreneurship in Latin America.<\/p>\n

Robust and diverse delegation<\/h3>\n

The Brazilian delegation, coordinated by ApexBrasil in partnership with Sebrae and other entities, represents more than 30 sectors of the economy, including HealthTech, EdTech, FinTech, MarTech, DeepTech, and Agritech. According to data from the Sebrae Startups Observatory, Brazil surpassed the mark of 20,000 active innovative companies in August 2025, a growth of 301% compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n

Beyond the major capitals, startups from the North and Northeast regions of Brazil are also gaining international recognition. Cear\u00e1, for example, is represented by four companies that won the Siar\u00e1 Tech Summit, such as Love Technology, which specializes in IT talent recruitment, and Soffia, a platform for managing shift schedules in the healthcare industry.<\/p>\n

Economic impact and internationalization<\/h3>\n

Brazil's participation in the Web Summit Lisbon is not merely symbolic. In 2024, the delegation generated over \u20ac15 million in business. In 2025, the focus is on the internationalization of technological solutions, especially in tourism, with eight startups from EmbraturLAB presenting projects in sustainability, Big Data, and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrazil is home to more than 20,000 startups, and that number continues to grow. The country is now a benchmark for innovation in Latin America, with scalable technological solutions in various sectors, which are attracting the interest of investors and companies worldwide,\u201d said Jorge Viana, president of ApexBrasil.<\/p>\n

Web Summit: a global stage for innovation<\/h3>\n

The event expects to receive more than 70,000 participants and 2,500 startups from around the world. Large companies such as Cloudflare, Meta, Qualcomm, Microsoft, IBM, and Adobe will be present, discussing topics such as artificial intelligence, technology governance, and diversity in entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

In 2024, 44% of the startups present were founded by women, a historical record. The event also highlights the role of women, who represented 42% of the participants and 37% of the speakers.<\/p>\n

Challenges and opportunities<\/h3>\n

Despite its growth, Brazil still ranks 27th in the global startup ranking, according to the Startup Ecosystem Index 2025. The United States leads with 1.1 million startups, followed by India with 493,000.<\/p>\n

According to experts, attending the Web Summit is a transformative opportunity for Brazilian startups, regardless of their stage of maturity. \u201cParticipating in an event like the Web Summit Lisbon is a transformative opportunity for all Brazilian startups \u2013 whether they are at the beginning of their journey or already on more established paths,\u201d said Maria Paula Velloso, Industry and Services Manager at ApexBrasil.<\/p>\n
