Escalation of Russian attacks forces Europe to rethink security strategy.<\/h2>\n

The intensification of Russian attacks against Ukraine in the last 72 hours marks a turning point that will shape European geopolitical priorities until 2026. On Saturday, November 15, Moscow launched approximately 430 drones and 18 missiles against Kyiv, including ballistic and aeroballistic projectiles, resulting in at least six deaths and more than 30 injuries.<\/p>\n

The numbers of the climb<\/h3>\n

The attack was described by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as deliberately calculated to cause maximum damage to civilian people and infrastructure. The impacts were direct: fires in residential buildings in several districts of the capital, among the victims two children and a pregnant woman.<\/p>\n

Two days later, on Sunday, November 16, Russia reiterated the offensive with three ballistic missiles and 135 drones. This time, Ukrainian defenses managed to intercept two ballistic missiles and 91 drones, but seven people died in Kyiv and at least 36 were injured.<\/p>\n

The strategic context that matters<\/h3>\n

These attacks are not isolated incidents. Simultaneously, Russian forces are advancing in southern Ukraine, with Ukrainian troops withdrawing from several villages in Zaporizia amidst intense fighting. Why does this change in 2026?<\/h3>\n

For Europe, the message is unequivocal: collective security is no longer theoretical. NATO countries\u2014particularly those bordering Russia\u2014will face increasing pressure to increase investments in defense, anti-missile systems, and redundancy of critical infrastructure. The disruptive trend here is clear: the post-Cold War European model, based on trade integration and delegated security, is being replaced by a paradigm of permanent military preparedness.<\/p>\n

European defense manufacturers, artificial intelligence systems for threat detection, and investments in critical technology will gain budgetary priority. Resilient infrastructure companies are also emerging as a key sector. This is disruption: not just technological, but also in the allocation of resources and continental strategic priorities.<\/p>\n
