The energy transition emerged as a central theme in the debates on the fifth day of the event, signaled as a strategy to attract foreign capital to emerging markets, with special emphasis on the Amazon. According to participants in the negotiations, the country left the first week "super motivated" to discuss decarbonization and sustainable industrialization.<\/p>\n

Protests highlight the urgency of climate change.<\/h3>\n

Saturday, November 15th, was marked by intense popular mobilization. The global march for climate justice brought together approximately 30,000 people in the streets of Bel\u00e9m, according to organizers of the event held alongside the official conference.<\/p>\n

Social movements, indigenous groups, and youth took to the streets to demonstrate that Brazilian civil society is closely following the climate discussions. The capital of Par\u00e1 state will remain Brazil's host city for the upcoming conference.<\/p>\n
