While Brazil consolidates its position as a global leader in technology and innovation, the domestic economy continues to slow down. The Ministry of Finance revised its economic projections downwards this week, reducing its GDP growth expectation from 2.31% to 2.21% in 2025, signaling a scenario of macroeconomic challenges that contrasts with ongoing technological advances.<\/p>\n

Brazil at the global forefront<\/h3>\n

The country continues to stand out on the international stage. More than 370 Brazilian startups and companies are participating in Web Summit Lisbon 2025, one of the largest global technology events. Simultaneously, Digital Week in Santos (November 13th and 14th) brings together more than 100 speakers, including the CEO of WhatsApp, with free admission, consolidating Brazil as an innovation hub.<\/p>\n

Strategic investments in AI and digital sovereignty<\/h3>\n

The federal government is moving forward with the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan, with projected investments of up to R$23 billion by 2028. One of the highlights is the installation of one of the five most powerful AI supercomputers in the world in the country, aimed at strengthening data security and Brazilian digital sovereignty.<\/p>\n

National satellite 100% being launched<\/h3>\n

UFSC is about to launch the first satellite with entirely national technology by the end of November. The equipment will be dedicated to climate monitoring, reinforcing Brazilian technological capacity in strategic areas such as sustainability and environmental research.<\/p>\n

Serpro boosts Brazilian startups.<\/h3>\n

The state-owned company fully sponsored 25 startups at Web Summit 2025, reinforcing its role as a driver of new businesses and a partner in the national digital transformation. This action demonstrates the public sector's commitment to strengthening the innovation ecosystem.<\/p>\n

The economic contrast<\/h2>\n

Despite technological advancements, economic indicators point to a slowdown. The industrial sector saw its projected growth reduced from 1.41% of the total period (TP3) to 1.31% of the TP3, while services declined from 2.11% of the TP3 to 1.91% of the TP3. The labor market also shows signs of weakening, with a reduction in the employed population, although the unemployment rate remains historically low.<\/p>\n

The scenario reflects the cumulative effects of restrictive monetary policy and global challenges, including trade conflicts that generate an oversupply of goods on a global scale.<\/p>\n
