The country is also consolidating its position as an innovation hub, standing out in international events and making advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalization.

Salaries above the Latin American average

A survey by the multinational company Deel, based on more than 1 million contracts in 150 countries, shows that Brazilian engineers and data scientists receive, on average, US$67,000 per year — the highest amount in Latin America. For engineers, the average salary is US$88,000 for men and US$62,000 for women. In product and design, the figures are US$110,000 (men) and US$96,000 (women).

Despite its leadership position, there is internal disparity: areas such as sales, marketing, products, and design still lag behind the standards of the major global powers. The report highlights that skills in AI, data analysis, and strategic negotiation will be key differentiators in the market.

Web Summit and national protagonism

Between November 10th and 13th, the Web Summit Lisbon 2025 brought together more than 70,000 people, with Brazil represented by a delegation of over 370 startups. Serpro, a public company, fully sponsored 25 Brazilian startups, reinforcing the country's role as a driver of global innovation.

Digital transformation and investments

According to data from ABES and IDC, 751 TWO percent of medium and large-sized Brazilian companies plan to increase their IT investments in 2025. Brazil is the 9th largest global market for ICT investments, with software and services standing out, already representing 531 TWO percent of investments, surpassing hardware.

Furthermore, 96% of companies already use or intend to use AI in the next 12 months, driving automation, data analysis, and cybersecurity.

Local events and projects

First edition of Digital Week in Santos, with over 100 speakers and the presence of the CEO of WhatsApp.

Launch of the first national 100% satellite by UFSC, aimed at climate monitoring.

The National Industry Innovation Journey, promoted by CNI and Sebrae, drives green and digital transition.

Impacts and challenges

Despite the progress, the sector faces challenges such as the wage gap between areas and genders, as well as the need for a better balance between innovation and inclusion. The growth of independent work and the increased value placed on AI specialists are trends that are expected to shape the market in the coming years.

Brazil stands out in salaries and technological innovation.
