But there's a significant disconnect between the hype and the reality of Brazilian businesses. This Thursday (November 13th), data released by Logicalis reveals that AI is neither the first nor the second priority in technology for companies in the country. Cybersecurity is what leads the attention — and for good reason.

Security first: 80% companies prioritize digital protection.

According to IT Trends Snapshot 2025, Developed by Logicalis in partnership with the consulting firm Stratica, cybersecurity is the number one priority for Brazilian companies. Second comes process automation, and only in third place are artificial intelligence and machine learning projects.

Márcio Caputo, CEO of Logicalis, explains the scenario: “Clients say that what’s missing to fully embrace AI is processing capacity, quality data, and deciding whether to do it in the cloud or in their own data center.” The message is clear: it’s not a lack of will, it’s a lack of infrastructure.

The security paradox: technology advances, but culture lags behind.

A supplementary report, which generated the Cyber Risk and Maturity Index (IMRCiber), reveals even more worrying data. Only 351% of Brazilian companies involve security teams in the development of new products. This means that Two out of three companies are creating solutions without considering protection from the start..

The study surveyed approximately 350 professionals and found that the country operates at an intermediate level of cybersecurity maturity, with a national average of 60%. In technical terms, there has been progress: 87% of companies already have active firewalls, and 52% use multifactor authentication in critical systems. However, the gap is evident—43% still do not apply Artificial Intelligence in a practical way, although 68% recognize its strategic value.

The biggest bottleneck, however, lies in leadership and organizational culture. 59% of companies do not translate cyber risks into language understandable to senior management, and 57% lack clarity about their own risk appetite.

AI is already transforming credit, but with reservations.

Not everything is pessimistic. In the credit sector, artificial intelligence is already a well-established reality. The ANBC (National Association of Credit Banks) also announced this Thursday that AI is significantly changing how companies and consumers interact with the financial system.

The numbers are impressive: automation can reduce costs by up to 66% and accelerate the development of models that previously took weeks—today they are completed in a few days. At one of the leading companies in the sector, more than 70% of the new models created in 2023 incorporated machine learning and deep learning, increasing data processing speed by 20 times.

But there's an important detail. According to Fabio Hashimoto, cited in the Logicalis study, only 3 out of 10 companies stated that they have already achieved tangible results from their AI initiatives. The problem? Most are still in the experimentation phase, without a clear ROI, well-defined use cases, or adequate governance.

Startups on a mission: Brazil goes international.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian startup ecosystem continues its international expansion. This week, ten startups selected by the SP Global Tech program (São Paulo State Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation) are participating in the Web Summit Lisbon, considered one of the largest technology events in the world, with over 70,000 participants.

Meanwhile, the startup Dynadok is participating in the 4CIO 2025 Mission in Porto de Galinhas (PE), connecting Brazilian companies and startups to the American IT market. The event brings together more than 70 foreign companies, including Sumitomo Chemical America, Scotiabank USA, and New York Life Insurance. Willian Valadão, co-founder of Dynadok, will present the company's solutions to CIOs from these corporations, with plans for international expansion in 2026.

Investments in talent: Brazil leads salaries in Latin America.

One positive point: Brazil is a leader in Latin America in compensation for technology professionals, according to the report. The State of Global Compensation 2025 According to Deel, which analyzed more than 1 million contracts in 150 countries, Brazilian engineers and data scientists earn an average of US$$ 67,000 per year.

But there is a concern: CIOs have expressed that the increase in budgets may not be enough to cover rising costs for skilled labor, inflation, and potential currency devaluations.

What changes for you?

This scenario has practical implications. If you work for a company, expect more investment in security before major AI projects. If you're an entrepreneur, the message is: security from the start isn't just compliance, it's a competitive advantage. If you're seeking a career in tech, the Brazilian market remains strong, but with a focus on specialists who understand both data and security.

The reality is less glamorous than the headlines about generative AI, but much more pragmatic. Brazil is building a solid foundation before rushing in. The question is whether this speed will be sufficient in the face of global competition.

While the market celebrates artificial intelligence, Brazilian companies are betting on security.
